AM a Malaysian citizen and I’ve always been following closely the development of politics and politician in our country.

I am sorry to say that all of them are the same whether they are in the Opposition or the ruling party. Their one and only goal seems to be their personal agendas.

Day after day, all you can see and hear in the media is the conflicts among them. None of the politicians seem genuine in wanting to find a way to make Malaysia a better place to live.

Even the media keeps reporting about the personal life of Saiful as if he is a very important person or some kind of a hero and the only one who is having problems.

Well, we actually don’t have to worry much about him because when he has a problem, he can go directly to see the Deputy Prime Minister. But whom do we turn to when we have problems? Wakil rakyats?

When there is an election, you are their best friend. If you ride a bicycle, they will ride a bicycle too and if you walk barefooted, they will do that too.

We don’t care when is Saiful’s birthday and what his fiancee thinks of him. What we want to see in the papers and for the politicians to do is to address the problems facing by the rakyat of Malaysia. Is that too much to ask?

I love this country and I hope all the politicians start doing the job that they were actually appointed for: to make Malaysia a better and safe place for all of us to live in, not just for the rich and famous.

STEPHEN ANDREW,

Pasir Gudang.
