Subject: RE: USJ 1 / Puchong (Tesco) Link
Dear Sam Tan, Ya, the State Government has decided that this bridge will go ahead. Personally, I have objected to this link. In my view, this link will bring a lot of traffic who wish to avoid the Kesas & LDP (Puchong side) toll to USJ. It will definitely negate all my efforts to have smoother traffic in SJ/USJ. The funding of this bridge is from the 4 companies developing the land behind Tesco. The cost of the bridge is estimated around RM30 million. However, I am doubtful the 4 companies will pay RM7.5 million each to fund this bridge. I have said many times in MPSJ meetings that it is better to build a diamond interchange at the Kesas Highway near the Indian Temple. The cost would be half and more possible to collect from the 4 developers. The problem now is that the 4 developers has advertised in their sales campaign that there is a proposed bridge to link to USJ. What happen if the bridge is not built due to shortage of funds? By that time all the buyers would have shifted in and the developers would have completed their project. I have warned that the buyers would then go after MPSJ and the local politicians. Puchong is not in my kawasan, hence my opinions in MPJJ do not count much. Good luck to all buyers of the 4 developments. Do not go after me, Puchong is not in my kawasan. Bye. Subject: usj1 puchong link Dato, Would appreciate if you could confirm if this link is finally being built. I read in the papers last month that the state government has finally approved the link from tesco to USJ1. Is this true? If so, would you know when will the construciton begin and end? Thank you.
