And the campaign has begun, too
THE campaigning has begun, not for the next general elections, but for the Subang Jaya 10km Run to be held at the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) complex on July 1.
Datuk Lee Hwa Beng, the organising chairman and also the Subang Jaya state assemblyman, was at the Alice Smith International School for the Subang Jaya Community Youth Football League (SJCYFL) recently and he took the opportunity to promote the SJ 10km Run.
He brought along 150 entry forms and handed them over to the Subang Jaya Community Sports Club president Dr Mohamed Amin Kassim.
Lee said they were expecting the community in the township to be part of the celebrations.

“I urge all residents in Subang Jaya to take part in the Run. We have planned many exciting activities for the participants,'' he said.
Meanwhile, the SJCYFL had 24 teams in four age-groups – Premier (Under14), Senior (Under-12), Major (Under-10) and Junior (Under-8), taking part.
The one-day event was a culmination of the league.
Lee, who initiated the community programme, said the tournament was in its seventh year and the response was overwhelming with more teams participating each year.
“This is a healthy programme which brings the children and adults in the community closer.''
The SJCYFL started with 90 children and a few volunteer parents and now has 260 children competing in four age groups.
The training sessions are usually held at SMK USJ4 on weekends and Lee said the tournament has received a boost with Sime-UEP donating RM500,000 to upgrade the school field.
