MILO, the familiar face behind Subang Jaya 10km Run, is again showing its loyal support as one of the main sponsors for the annual event on July 1.

This marks the 10th consecutive year that Milo is coming forward as sponsor.

Nestle Products sports marketing manager Ng Ping Loong said he was happy that the run was going strong after 10 long years.

“You know, how time flies! 10 years have passed since we first came in as sponsor. But I believe it's a good event that caters to the community, which is why the run is still attracting many till now,” Ng said.

“Runs, in particular, promote healthy living and encourages integration, and with SJ 10km Run, we see participants from different communities and races coming together for a shared and common interest,” Ng said during the sponsorship presentation.

Milo has pledged RM30,000 in total sponsorship comprising cash and kind.

Another main sponsor is the Ambank Group, no stranger to the run, with its third sponsorship participation.

“In Subang Jaya alone, we have three Ambank branches which actually make our network here quite strong,” said Ambank Group director of group public affairs Syed Anuar Syed Ali.

“As sponsor, we wish to help The Star build a community of healthy Malaysians. This run is unique because it brings families together. It's one of the many things we do to promote the country, or Subang Jaya in this case, internationally, because if you were to type SJ 10km Run in google , the list of searches will appear,” he said.

“We've even asked our staff to participate,” Syed Anuar said, adding that Ambank had pledged sponsorship of RM10,000. It will also be providing mineral water and goodie bags for all participants.

Subang Jaya assemblyman Datuk Lee Hwa Beng urged families and all to come forward and sign up for the run.

“Jogging is the cheapest and easiest form of exercise! It's a healthy activity that families can do together as a social outing,” said Lee.

The Subang Jaya 10km Run is jointly organized by The Star, the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ), and the Selangor Amateur Athletics Association (SAAA). It will kick off on July 1 at 7.30am at the MPSJ Sports Complex.
