Hello, Dato' Lee Hwa Beng,

Here's an article which I had posted to the newspapers for your information:

RESIDENTS LIVING IN THIS ISOLATED PART OF SUBANG JAYA WANT THE LRT LINE
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looking at the re routing of the LRT line for Subang Jaya which was unanimously accepted by all JKP zone 1 members at a recent meeting held to debate on the draft local plan 2020 for the township, they too have my endorsement as something that I can agree with  when I first saw it, but I have other reservations when I looked at it again.

What I reckon with is the builders will have difficulties and problems finding land to build the station and car park in the area.    In fact, this stretch of road is already cluttered with flyovers, high-rise buildings and monsoon drains.

And, besides, the traffic condition in the area is chaotic and it is extremely difficult to find a parking lot during office hours along that stretch of road, now.

With due respect for the hard work of the team, I am afraid I have to draw the planner’s attention on the new route which seems okay on the drawing board.    Unfortunately, there are too many right-angled turns along the route.

Yes!    Trains don’t make right-angled turns, no matter what.     It has to make a loop-like turn and slowly, of course.      For this, you need a lot of land to build the loop.     This means the builders have to find the land for it and since land is scarce in Subang Jaya, where do you think they can find it?

Under these circumstances, the design should be aborted and, perhaps, to retain the original route.

By the way, it’s ideal and practical to run the LRT route directly from where the Land Office is via Jalan Jengka until the end.      Because, it’s a straight route all the way down.    And, it will help cut down on costs of the project.

Here, there are fewer high rise buildings and there is ample open air space for building the structural span and tracks.

The only drawback is because the original route proposed in the draft local plan does not include any station to allow commuters to alight and board the trains when it passes SS14 and SS18 in Subang Jaya.     Also, there is no allocation for a car park.

This makes no sense at all.   So, over to the planners, please look into this requirement and have at least a station and a car park included in the revised draft local plan.

However, I have a suggestion to make.    Instead of running the LRT line alongside the mosque into Jalan Jengka, why not have it running alongside the Imperial China Restaurant (Tai Thong Restaurant), instead.

That means, the planners can use the SS18 field which is directly facing SS14 to build the station and car park.

From here the line runs into other parts of the township whereby its existence is subjective to the needs of other residents who are living there.

However, residents living in this neighbouring area of SS14 and SS18 want the LRT line to run through as it would bring people into this part of Subang Jaya to shop and also help boost up rentals and property prices as well, especially when public transport is within accessibility.

So, from us, who live particularly in this isolated part of Subang Jaya, kudos to the planners for having included the LRT line in the draft local plan for 2020.

Dear Lau Bing,
Your suggestion to convert the SS18 field to a station and car park is ludicrous. Please put some thoughts to your idea before putting it up for consideration.
